“The voice of him who cries in the wilderness, Prepare the way of Jehovah, make straight a highway in the desert for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked places shall be made level, and the rough places smooth; and the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken” (Isaiah 40:3-5)
“In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand. For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight” (Matthew 3:1-3)

Purpose: To encourage the people to be close to the Lord, and obey the commandments of God. And to recognize that The Lord Jesus is the Savior. Love that way and by repenting of their sins and fulfilling their covenant with our Lord Jesus Christ. This is one of the ways to prepare for the return of our Lord. We are God’s creations, and we are made. He is in Christ Jesus so that we do good that is his intention for us. (Ephesians 2:10),
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10)
God warned us and John the Baptist said this saying “prepare the way of God” Let’s prepare for the return of the Lord to this world. How to prepare for it? (Acts 3:19-20),
“Therefore repent and convert so that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. And He shall send Jesus Christ, who before was proclaimed to you,” (Acts 3:19-20)
Thus said the words of God. So repent and return to God so that he will erase your sins if you do this (verse 20). He will come and you will receive spiritual strength from the Lord, and then he will send the Messiah (Matthew 4:17),
“From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, Repent! For the kingdom of Heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17)
“Repent of your sins because God is about to reign” (Jeremiah 17:9),
Who can search the heart of man? No one is more deceitful and more evil. And only God can reach the human heart and this is described in a place in the wilderness. Which should be prepared so that we can be worthy in the Lord’s return. If we have a mountain of problems, let’s level it, let’s love our fellow man. We forgive those who have wronged us. We love the Lord with all our hearts. We love our enemy and our neighbor. And that through this we can be ready for the return of our Lord.
And through this everything will be in order (Isaiah 40:5),
“and the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken” (Isaiah 40:5)
For then the Glory of the Lord will be revealed and all people will see it because the Lord spoke it.
Because people today are just like grass and their beauty is just like a flower. The grass will wither and the flower will fade when the Lord sends it and the wind is no different from the man to the grass. So let’s preach to all the people the Word of the Lord so that other people also know it so that they can prepare themselves to prepare the Way of God in our lives (Isaiah 40:9),
“Go up for yourself on the high mountain, bringer of good tidings to Zion. Lift up your voice with strength, O you who bring good tidings to Jerusalem; lift up, do not be afraid. Say to the cities of Judah, Behold your God!” (Isaiah 40:9)
