REGENERATION-THE POTTER AND THE CLAY-PART 1

Being “born again” = “regeneration” (English word) Definition from the dictionary = “the action or process of regenerating or being regenerated (being reformed and being made new spiritually or morally).

And the vessel that he made in clay was ruined in the hand of the potter; so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the Word of Jehovah came to me, saying, O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter? says Jehovah. Behold, As the clay in the potter’s hands, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel” (Jeremiah 18:4-6)

But now, O Jehovah, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our Former; and we all are the work of Your hand”  (Isaiah 64:8)

The process of being “born again” or regeneration (being reformed and being made new spiritually or morally) is like the Potter and the Clay story.

It is alright to spend time memorizing a Scripture verse, but it does not bring forth much “fruit“. That is because the Verse becomes like concrete and not like soft and shapeable clay. In spiritual regeneration the Potter (the Lord) puts one person on the “potters wheel“. The Lord is very soft, gentle, and careful with shaping and forming the soft clay. He is the “Master Potter” and He alone is the one who does this process of forming. No one else is allowed to do this work. No one.

Regeneration (being reformed and being made new spiritually or morally) is like making a bow. We must find a branch on the tree that is perfect. It must be a tender branch and bend with the right combination of flexibility and strength. Then a string will be attached to the branch. If the branch is too flexible it will not power the arrow to its target. If the branch is too strong and not flexible enough the branch could break when the arrow is pulled back and will not find its target.

This is like memorizing Scripture in the brain and then trying to use it as a spiritual weapon. The Lord has one “target” in mind and that is something called “fruit”. Memorizing Scripture will not produce much spiritual “fruit”. For it comes out of our minds and not from the mind and Spirit of the Lord. For that is the power and strength of the Word (Bible). It is not like baking a cake or bread and using the same ingredients over and over to expect a certain outcome. Only the “spiritual meaning” of the Holy Bible can produce fruit that reproduces and forms “fruit” that will last for all eternity.

so shall My Word be, which goes out of My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall certainly do what I sent it to do” (Isaiah 55:11)

The Lord God Jehovah is the Master Potter who regenerates His “born again” children into citizens of His Kingdom when they leave the world and the body. This is the “fruit” the Lord Jesus Christ desires and produces in them which is regeneration (being reformed and being made new spiritually or morally).

In this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, so you shall be My disciples” (John 15:8)

But this process of regeneration (being reformed and being made new spiritually or morally) is not just for the benefit of the Lord Jesus Christ only, for His children are the ones who truly benefit from Jehovah’s limitless love,

But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law. But those belonging to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:22-25)
