He Must Increase, So I Can Decrease

As the New Emerging Church increases and unfolds upon the earth I would like to suggest a mantra and a saying that should be on all of our lips

I Must Decrease, so He Can Increase

At the first appearing and manifestation of the Lord Jesus, John the Baptist had this to say about our Lord,

He must become more and more important, and I must become less important. The one who comes from above is greater than all others. The one who is from the earth belongs to the earth. He talks about things that are on the earth. But the one who comes from heaven is greater than all others”  (John 3:30-31) ERV

John the Baptist was saying, I have come about to proclaim His name and His appearing. I must now leave the stage so that He may proclaim His mission and goal upon the earth.

The natural meaning of this Bible verse is focused on what John was saying and about his mission. But what is the spiritual message of this verse as the angels in heaven read it?

May I suggest, it is flip-flopped and turned around to their spiritual understanding and how they read it.

I Must Decrease, so He Can Increase

If the New Emerging Church will have this in the first order of the mind and of the will, nothing can stop us.

We will move in unity if our common goal is to see the Lord’s kingdom on the earth becoming more and more dominant.

The book of Isaiah the prophet was given to him. He opened the book and found the place where this is written: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me. He has chosen me to tell good news to the poor. He sent me to tell prisoners that they are free and to tell the blind that they can see again. He sent me to free those who have been treated badly and to announce that the time has come for the Lord to show his kindness”  (Luke 4:17-19) ERV

This is the Second Coming of Jesus and the unfolding of the New Emerging Church upon the earth. The church will walk in step with the Commandment to Love their Lord and to Love their neighbor.

The more they forget themselves and follow these commands, the more the kingdom of God and the New Emerging Church upon the earth will increase

I give you a new command: Love each other. You must love each other just as I loved you. All people will know that you are my followers if you love each other”  (John 13:34-35) ERV
