Jesus is the Man on the Silver Mountain

Abstract: Using a 1970s classic rock song by a band called Rainbow, as an illustration, we will be able to see the spiritual meaning of this song.  As posted on this site 10.18.2013 “God Is The Originator and Inspiration of All Music”.  We will attempt to see how the song corresponds to the spiritual heavenly meaning found in the Word (Bible)

“Man on the Silver Mountain” is the first single by Rainbow and the first track of their debut album, Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow (1975). Written by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore and singer Ronnie James Dio, this song is, as Dio said, “a semi-religious one, a man on the silver mountain is a kind of God figure everyone is crying out to”. This track became one of Rainbow’s best-known tracks and was also a live favourite for any Rainbow line-up, and also the band Dio. The words “The man on the silver mountain Ronnie James Dio” are inscribed on his grave”.  (Wikipedia)

This is the lyrics from that song;

“Man On The Silver Mountain” Rainbow

I’m a wheel, I’m a wheel
I can roll, I can feel
And you can’t stop me turning
Cause I’m the sun, I’m the sun
I can move, I can run
But you’ll never stop me burning
Come down with fire
Lift my spirit higher
Someone’s screaming my name
Come and make me holy again

I’m the man on the silver mountain
I’m the man on the silver mountain
I’m the day, I’m the day
I can show you the way
And look I’m right beside you
I’m the night, I’m the night
I’m the dark and the light
With eyes that see inside you
Come down with fire
Lift my spirit higher
Someone’s screaming my name
Come and make me holy again

I’m the man on the silver mountain
I’m the man on the silver mountain
Come down with fire
Lift my spirit higher
Someone’s screaming my name
Come and make me holy again

I’m the man on the silver mountain
I’m the man on the silver mountain
Just look at me and listen
I’m the man, the man, give you my hand
Come down with fire
Lift your spirit higher
I’m the man on the silver mountain
I’m the man on the silver mountain
I’m the night and the light
I’m the black and the white
The man on the silver mountain

One of the oddest and bizarre descriptions of God are found in the Bible book of Ezekiel

I saw the living creatures, and behold, one wheel was on the earth with [each of] the living creatures, beside its four faces. The appearance of the wheels and their works were like a kind of tarshish, and the four had the same likeness. In addition the appearance of them, and their works, was like a wheel in the middle of a wheel. They went along on four sides in the direction they went; they did not turn aside as they went. Their rims were so high that they were awesome; in addition their rims were full of eyes round about all four of them. Thus when the living creatures went, the wheels went along with them. The spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels”  (Ezekiel 1:15-21; 10:9-14)

I’m a wheel, I’m a wheel
I can roll, I can feel
And you can’t stop me turning

What Ezekiel saw is a visual description of the DIVINE PROVIDENCE OF GOD.  The wheels moved in the direction that God so determines “on four sides in the direction they went“.

The four wheels were full of eyes.  The eye is the seat and sight of the Spirit.  God is ALL-KNOWING AND ALL SEEING.

The movement and direction of the wheels are determined by “The spirit of the living creatures“.  This is by THE REVEALED TRUTH and HOLINESS OF THE WORD (Bible). NOTHING CAN STOP the DIVINE PROVIDENCE OF GOD.

Cause I’m the sun, I’m the sun
I can move, I can run
But you’ll never stop me burning

And I saw Heaven opened. And behold, a white horse! And He sitting on him was called Faithful and True. And in righteousness He judges and makes war. And His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head many crowns. And He had a name written, one that no one knew except Himself”  (Revelation 19:11-12)

The sun is the source of all life on earth.  JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE.

Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You go, and how can we know the way? Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me”  (John 14:5-6)

Come down with fire
Lift my spirit higher
Someone’s screaming my name
Come and make me holy again

And when you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; yea, when you make many prayers, I will not hear; your hands are full of blood. Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes; cease to do evil; learn to do good; seek judgment, reprove the oppressor. Judge the orphan, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, says Jehovah; though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken”  (Isaiah 1:15-20)

Lift yourself out of the hiding place.  Come let us reason together.  Join together with ME, the I AM.  Praise my NAME. LET YOUR UNDERSTANDING and FAITH lift you higher and closer to Me.  I Love You.  In your mind do not put me in a place of shame and ignorance.  “Come and make me holy again” in your sight and in your eyes.

I’m the man on the silver mountain
I’m the man on the silver mountain

So Jesus came out wearing the thorny crown and purple cloak, and Pilate said to them, See, [here is] the Man!”  (John 19:5)

Come to me all of you who are tired from the heavy burden you have been forced to carry. I will give you rest. Accept my teaching. Learn from me. I am gentle and humble in spirit. And you will be able to get some rest. Yes, the teaching that I ask you to accept is easy. The load I give you to carry is light.”  (Matthew 11:28-30)

I’m the day, I’m the day
I can show you the way
And look I’m right beside you

We heard the true teaching from God. Now we tell it to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness. So if we say that we share in life with God, but we continue living in darkness, we are liars, who don’t follow the truth. We should live in the light, where God is. If we live in the light, we have fellowship with each other, and the blood sacrifice of Jesus, God’s Son, washes away every sin and makes us clean. If we say that we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves, and the truth is not in us”  (1 John 1:5-8)

I’m the night, I’m the night
I’m the dark and the light
With eyes that see inside you

God has perfect knowledge of us, and all our thoughts and actions are open before him

Your Spirit is everywhere I go. I cannot escape your presence.

If I go up to heaven, you will be there. If I go down to the place of death, you will be there.

If I go east where the sun rises or go to live in the west beyond the sea,

even there you will take my hand and lead me. Your strong right hand will protect me.

Suppose I wanted to hide from you and said, “Surely the darkness will hide me. The day will change to night and cover me.”

Even the darkness is not dark to you. The night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are the same”  (Psalms 139:7-12)

Just look at me and listen
I’m the man, the man, give you my hand
Come down with fire
Lift your spirit higher

I AM JESUS, take my hand.  LIFT YOUR SPIRIT HIGHER. Join Me. Together we shall lift you higher into an eternal life of happiness, joy, and bliss!

In a short time, there will be no more evil people. You can look for them all you want, but they will be gone. Humble people will get the land God promised, and they will enjoy peace”  (Psalms 37:10-11)

Amen?
