This is What “The Body of Christ” Looks Like In Heaven

“Anatomical and Geometrical Proportions” by Albrecht Durer (illustration 1)

Quote from “Heaven and Hell” #65;  by Emanuel Swedenborg. Parsed out to highlight text meaning;

Since heaven in its entirety does reflect a single individual,

and is, in fact, the divine spiritual person in its greatest form and image,

Heaven is therefore differentiated into members and parts like a person,

And these are given similar names. Angels know what member one community or another is in and say that this community is in the member or province of the head, that one in the member or province of the chest, that one in the member or province of the genitals, and so on.  (SO……)

In general,…

The highest or third heaven forms the head down to the neck,

The middle or second (Heaven) forms the torso as far as the genitals and knees,

And the lowest or first (Heaven) forms the feet to the very soles and also the arms all the way to the fingers,

Since the arms and hands are among our “lowest things” even though they are at our sides.

We can see from this again why there are three heavens”. (end)

The Renaissance View of The Human Body

If we accept this proposition of what the heavenly “Body of Christ” is just given, we can by further understand by reading descriptions of the human body by two Renaissance savants, Albrecht Durer, and Marcus Vitruvius Pollio.

It is a well-known fact that when Albert Einstein was forced to take a job at a patent office, he would quickly get his work done so he could stare out the window and write out mathematical strings in his head to check out hypothetical physics he was working on.  This is how he discovered the theory of relativity. This is just what savants do.  They think on a higher plane than most humans do.

This is how Albrecht Durer (illustration 1) and Marcus Vitruvius formulated the scientific dimensions of the human body.  Believe it or not, in the universe of the cosmos the human body is much more than a conglomeration of flesh and blood.  It is a living, dynamic system like the human system that we will one day cast off and take on the form of a much more perfect spiritual system. We will dwell in the “Grand Man”. Drum roll please!

“For God is one, and there is one Mediator of God and of men, the Man Christ Jesus,  (1 Timothy 2:5 MKJV)

Examine this Scripture. “…For God is one,…“). When we pass from this life we will not see the Father. We will communicate and see ONLY ONE.

…the Man…”, “…CHRIST JESUS…“. That is why in the Bible it is called THE BODY OF CHRIST. Praise His Name!

The Mystical Body of Christ

In the New Testament, it speaks quite often of this mystical body that belongs to Christ.  For example;

“And you are the body of Christ, and members in part” (1 Corinthians 12:27).

In the Bible, it speaks extensively of human body parts.  The ears, the eyes, the nose, the feet, the hands, the heart.  There are spiritual metaphors for the body walking, sitting and standing.  The metaphorical putting on armor to cover the body from spiritual attacks, and on and on and on.

So we are the members of the body of Christ, LITERALLY!

“in whom every building having been fitly framed together, grows into a holy sanctuary in the Lord; in whom you also are built together for a dwelling place of God through the Spirit”  (Ephesians 2:22).

So we can see from the Book of Ephesians the human body is a “…a dwelling place of God…” (“The Church”).  And we can see the human body presented in geometrical and mathematical science is a body that relates and corresponds to both the physical world and the spiritual world!.

“Behold what manner of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God. Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.  Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be. But we know that when He shall be revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is”.   (1 John 3:1-2 MKJV)

If you want to read about it yourself on Wikipedia type in “Albrecht Durer” and find “Four Books on Human Proportion” in Contents Box.  Also, the originator of the theory “Vitruvius” (Marcus Vitruvius Pollio) and subject “The Proportions of Man”.  Also the famous artwork “Vitruvian Man” by Leonardo da Vinci based on the work by Marcus Vitruvius Pollio.
