The Little Known and Real Meaning of the Term “Second Coming of Jesus Christ”

The Little Known and Real Meaning of the Term “Second Coming of Jesus Christ” Leslie Lyons 06.26.2017

The second coming of Jesus Christ has historically been one of the most important events of the Christian faith doctrine. Jesus himself talked extensively about this future event in Matthew Chapter 24.

Essentially it has been interpreted that Jesus will appear in the sky and will call the faithful home to heaven before the final judgment falls upon this world. Many books have been written describing this event. Most notably Tim LeHay and the “Left Behind” series, that was immensely popular Christian literature during the 1990s. This is also the prevailing and accepted doctrine in the Christian church. The only point of contention among Bible scholars is WHEN will it occur? Pre-trib, Mid-trib or Post-trib?.

Although I am a person of no reputation, I can share unto you what God has revealed to my mind through His spirit regarding the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. First of all, our modern interpretation of this event found in Bible Scripture is flawed in one major characteristic. That is how does the Second Coming affect ME or MYSELF? What is my destiny here in this world? How am I different from others? Me, Me, Me, and little me!.

But the truth is found not only in the New Testament, it is found and revealed in the Book of Revelation;

“And the seventh angel sounded. And there were great voices in Heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ. And He will reign forever and ever” Revelation 11:15 MKJV.

A Breakdown of The Reveled Truth of the “Second Coming”

This is from a private Bible Study in the Book of Revelation. I self-published Part I in 2015, called “A Testimony of Jesus. Notes on The Book of Revelation Part I”. This portion is from “A Testimony of Jesus. Notes on The Book of Revelation Part II”;

Verse 15: And the seventh angel sounded. And there were great voices in Heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ. And He will reign forever and ever. (Rev 11:15)

The previous six angels and six trumpets were all parts of an examination and judgment of the church on earth (the golden censer thrown into the earth Chapter 8:5). In this verse, the angel is mentioned but the trumpet is not. This is not a proclamation from the throne as in the case of the first six angels and six trumpets. It states that “the seventh angel sounded”. This means the source and authority of the divine heaven are now ascending to the throne.

The number “seven” is what is holy or holiness. And as “seven” signifies the same as a week, and six days are days of labor, and of what belongs to man, and the seventh day is holy and the Lord’s (Exodus 20:8-11). This seventh day, or “seventh angel” or that which now belongs to the Lord in eternity future is the shining moment of the Lord Jesus. This what is commonly called “The Second Coming of Jesus Christ”.

The “And there were great voices in heaven. They begin to say The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ. And He will reign forever and ever”. There is worship, adoration, and LOVE to the one who first loved us. They also know that in justice and righteousness that the Lord Jesus should assume His rightful place as the head of the church. They are not only celebrating, they are happy and proud for the humble servant who they know is their Poppa Daddy.

The first six trumpets of the shifting and shaking of the church on earth which is the “kingdoms of this world” is now complete. The “seventh” angel is now being revealed. They have become “kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ”. Glory, glory, glory! The human-divine man who was crucified died and rose from the dead is now shown as KING!

“The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand”
John 3:35

The essence of the Father is found in the Son. Much like a body houses a soul. We will never see God as he really exists, but for eternity we will see His perfect reflection. And that is Jesus the Christ.

“I and my Father are one” John 10:30 KJV

We can now imagine the vision that the Apostle John is describing. The glorious majestic King of Kings ascending the throne, perhaps wearing a regal purple robe, “And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots” Matt 27:35 KJV.

This is The Mission and Purpose of the Now Emerging Church

The circle of life among the history of the church on the earth is now almost complete. There is now a conjunction and consummation of all things. Jesus the Messiah has taken His rightful place on the throne as the true head of the church. This my brethren is what God has shown me in what is the true meaning of the “Second Coming of Jesus Christ”.

The second coming of Jesus Christ is not a natural event that will occur in the natural world. It is a spiritual event that will take place in heaven and manifest itself spiritually on the earth, and the church in particular.

With this truth in mind, and as a banner and shield, the new emerging church will grow and prosper. This church body will find and encounter much resistance from the old church guard. They will be stubborn and militant, but “And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. And they did not love their soul until death” Revelation 12:11 MKJV.

May I suggest a reading of “The Harvest” by Rick Joyner and “The Vision of the Body of Christ, and the End Time Ministries” by Tommy Hicks (1961) to further illustrate these truths.

May God be glorified as we progress to our own glorious future!

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them”
Ephesians 2:10 MKJV

About kalahawk

I grew up in a mainstream church. I was born again during the Charismatic revival. I have had a hunger for revival since 1998, and attend them around the country when I can. I was a hospital Chaplain and now am semi-retired, and a volunteer Chaplain at the Springfield Justice Center Jail. I have written on Christian Doctrine since 2001. I have written three easy-to-read books, "Notes on the Book of Psalms", "Notes on Job" and "Notes on Revelation". The Psalms are available as a free e-book download. I attended Bible Institute, an online Christian school for pastoral studies. I find His Word delightful, and my greatest pleasure is to find golden nuggets of truth!
