What is “Covenant Rest”? It is God’s Rest and It is Christ our Jubilee Leslie Lyons 5.14.2017
Last year God spoke to me a thousand words of revelation as in the blink of the eye. I heard the words “Covenant Rest”.
That this is the true heavenly meaning of Jubilee as it was revealed to me. May God be glorified.
Covenant Rest is Based on the Ten Commandments
It is found in Exodus Chapter 20. It is the sum and summation of all kingdom principles and truths. The two stone tablets on which the law was written was called “the tablets of the covenant”. The ark that contained the two stone tablets was called the “ark of the covenant” and the law was called “the covenant”. These are the regulations and requirements of man’s behavior toward God and toward his fellow humans on earth which are also Kingdom principles. This covenant is found throughout the world. Not only in this world, but it is the basic spiritual principle for all the residents in heaven.
Jesus (God taking on human form) clarified This Covenant
He clarified the meaning of the two stones (ten WORDS) of the covenant into the two Great Commandments.
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets” (Matthew 22:37-40 KJV).
A covenant is a partnership. An agreement between God and men. The covenant contains all things related to God and the other of all things related to us (two stones). His blood is called the “blood of the covenant” (Matthew 26:28). Our WORD (Bible) is composed of the “old covenant” and the “new covenant”.
The supreme characteristic of this covenant is LOVE.
“If you keep My commandments, you shall abide in My love, even as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love” (John 15:10 MKJV).
Covenant Rest Relating to The Lord’s Prayer
He instructed his followers “Therefore pray in this way: Our Father, who is in Heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven” (Matthew 6:10 MKJV).
Supremely, we are to pray, and to pray only for God’s will to be done, “on earth as it is in Heaven”. Currently, there is a disengagement of this connection with the church on earth as an aggregate.
“Can two walk together unless they are agreed?” (Amos 3:3)
If God is denied His rightful place as the head of the church on earth, then we are not in agreement. There is no covenant rest. Heaven and earth are not connected. This is a result of the prevailing church doctrine called Sola Fide or “by faith alone”. To this doctrine, salvation is obtained by grace + faith + nothing and there is no need to do anything else. In effect, the two stones of the Decalogue covenant (“the law”) are made of no effect. Because one tablet in the ten commandments is our relationship with God, and the second tablet is our responsibility on how to behave toward others.
If we say white as snow, white as snow, all my sins are all white as snow. I can add nothing to the finished work of Christ. But in reality, this produces a state of the stupor and laziness of participating in the work of Christ in our regeneration.
We rely on our priests and pastors to shoulder the burden of living a Christian life. We go to church to “fill up” on Sunday and Wednesdays like it is a filling station. We become the cup that is clean on the outside and dirty on the inside. We think we are observing the first tablet of love to God and the second, love to the neighbor, but in reality, my flesh will still dominate my life and not my spirit.
“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46 KJV)
The way of eternal life is found in the (10 Commandments) tablets of the covenant. This is our part, this is our responsibility.
“I may speak in different languages, whether human or even of angels. But if I don’t have love, I am only a noisy bell or a ringing cymbal” (1 Corinthians 13:1 ERV).
There is currently TRUTH (WORD) in the church, but it is not co-joined to LOVE (the essence of God)
It is like the winter sunshine. It looks exactly like the summer sun, but everything is dormant. There is no life and there is no growth. As a result, there is no covenant rest to glorify our Lord. Half of the ten commandments are not being observed or practiced in everyday life.
Covenant Rest Relating to: “Marriage of the Lamb” Revelation Chapter 19:7,9
“Let us be glad and rejoice and we will give glory to Him. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has prepared herself” (Revelation 19:7).
“And he said to me, Write, Blessed are those who have been called to the marriage supper of the Lamb, And he said to me, These are the true sayings of God” (Revelation 19:9).
The “marriage of the Lamb” (Revelation 19:7), is the joining together of the church on earth and the church in heaven together in the Lord.
Today in the Christian church this relationship between heaven and earth has been severed. It essentially does not exist on a corporate level. It also means on another level the individual believer. The believer is called upon to fight the evil within them and crucify it through making proper decisions and relying on the power of Christ to live according to the precepts of the Decalogue. This is following the example of our Lord displayed while He walked upon the earth.
The higher meaning is the right covenant relationship with the Lord in heaven and the Lord with the church on the earth. The highest meaning is the “marriage” the joining together GOOD (LOVE) and TRUTH (WORD). We need to obey the words of Jesus;
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also]. For whoever is bent on saving his [temporal] life [his comfort and security here] shall lose it [eternal life]; and whoever loses his life [his comfort and security here] for My sake shall find it [life everlasting]” (Matthew 16:24-25)
Jesus showed us the way in the ultimate example when He was transfigured
“And He was transfigured before them. And His face shone
He was transfigured
The “marriage supper of the lamb”
On that day those in the new church who have embraced the TRUTH of this doctrine that says faith alone cannot save. Jesus must take His rightful place as the head of the church as told in this book of Revelation.
“For all things were created in Him, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. And He is the Head of the body, the church, who is the Beginning, the First-born from the dead, that He may be pre-eminent in all things. For it pleased the Father that in Him all fullness should dwell“. (Colossians 1:16-19)
They will follow the example of their Lord and have LOVE (the power of the Cross) conjoined to TRUTH (reading and obeying the WORD). But to have loved the neighbor greater than ourselves through appropriating the power of the cross (LOVE) and the power of the blood (TRUTH). By following the example set by our Lord Jesus.
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).
When the church has come into this right relationship with Jesus as the true head of the church, which is His body, then there is a celebration (“supper”). This is
Christ is our Jubilee. But in the highest order, the Church has been restored into a right relation to the Decalogue and to the church in heaven. God then is able to have ”Covenant Rest”.
“And Jehovah said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, in his erring; he is flesh. Yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years” (Genesis 6:3).
God will achieve His covenant rest as described in the Book of Revelation. It will culminate with “And I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of Heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her Husband”. (Revelation 21:2).
