The Dangers and Pitfalls of Religious Dogma and Doctrine
And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. Else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskin will perish. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved together. Also no one having drunk old wine immediately desires new, for he says, The old is better. (Luke 5:37-39)
Search The Scriptures to See if These things Be So
As the new move of God descends upon us we need to be aware of why God is birthing forth this new movement;
“You search and investigate and pore over the Scriptures diligently, because you suppose and trust that you have eternal life through them. And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me!” (John 5:39 AMP). We cannot rely entirely on human prophetic revelation to direct the church on earth in which way we should proceed. Prophetic words are confirmed by two or more witnesses; “But if he will not hear you, take one or two more with you, so that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established” (Matthew 18:16 MKJV). But if the church is going to progress in that word, it requires love, unity, wisdom and understanding. Along with revelations we need to stand on the unshakably rock of the WORD.
Religious Dogma and Doctrine
I have heard it said that there is over 12,000 Christian denominations and sects on the earth. And why is there so many different faiths and beliefs? It is because there is disagreements in Dogma and Doctrine. This is all derived from the simple fact that Scripture is interpreted differently by different people. All of them are convinced that they hold the keys and truths to the kingdom.
This is why I believe, the next move of the church is all about. We have a sovereign God, but not a sovereign head of the body of Christ. We have a church, but it is disconnected from heaven. It is not moving in the power and commission the risen Lord gave it to accomplish. But more importantly, the Lord Jesus is not given full reign to which He is entitled.
It requires a consensus on the direction and goals that the throne sets out before us. Or to put it in the old school terminology, dogma and doctrine. These are stumbling blocks that have created 12,000 sects and denominations. And these are the stumbling blocks that will split the universal church on earth in half, when this fantastic, unbelievable move of God erupts. Rick Joiner wrote an applicable book, called “The Harvest”. It vividly describes the conflict between the dogma and doctrine of the old establishment and the new church order that will emerge.
Flexible and Bendable
So that we do not get entirely caught up in conflict and disagreements, we have to be spiritually flexible and bendable. We have to be open to the Spirit. We who participate in this world wide revival have to be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove. We may not be able to avoid this conflict, nor should we entirely. But we should keep our heads in the clouds, and our feet on the ground. Jesus taught this principle; “Do you suppose that I have come to give peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division. For from now on, there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And He also said to the crowd, When you see a cloud rise out of the west, immediately you say, There is a shower coming. And so it is. And when you see the south wind blow, you say, There will be heat; and it occurs. Hypocrites! You know to discern the face of the heaven and the earth, but how is it that you do not discern this time?” (Luke 12:5-56 MKJV).
Scripture is the Key to Confirmation and Consensus
The WORD of God is the essence of the risen Lord Jesus. It is pure, holy, righteous, merciful and love. It is a compass to the easily deluded human mind. It provides a narrow golden path for us to follow. “For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing apart of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12 MKJV).
This coming movement of the kingdom of God on the earth will not only be a massive, unprecedented harvest of souls, but a shift to a appropriate and proper kingdom oriented church. I believe God will release the spiritual meaning of Scriptures during this time. It will resemble how the angels in heaven read the Book. Not in how it relates to worldly natural things.
Our Lord Jesus will shine in his magnificent glory of wisdom and love. He will be uplifted to his rightful place as the head of the body. We shall behold Him as he really is. “And He said to them, When you pray, say: Our Father, who is in Heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, as in Heaven, so also on the earth” (Luke 11:2 MKJV).
“Heaven is My throne and earth is My footstool. What house will you build Me, says the Lord, or what is the place of My rest?”. (Acts 7:49 MKJV)
