And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. And then the sign of the Son of Man shall appear in the heavens. And then all the tribes of the earth shall mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of the heaven with power and great glory”.
What is Missing from the Interpretation of the Tribulation in Scripture?
It should be noted that perhaps 99.8% of the church clergy accept that this verse refers to a great tribulation time on the earth. I do not doubt or dismiss that these events could come to pass. However, I think the church is missing the intended spiritual interpretation
I believe it is very plain from this Scripture text, the “WORD was God” (YHVH). He was, and is eternity past, in eternity present and eternity future. Anything that appears before our eyes, anything that appears before our minds, or anything we hear is from this one source, “the WORD”. We could not breathe, we would not have life. Without it, we are like a spaceship flying into the sun. We would dissolve into nothing but absolute vapor and dissipation. The WORD is the essence and the reflection of the LIVING CREATOR. The cornerstone of all life.
“Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him shall never be ashamed” (1 Peter 2:6).
2) The church in the world is formed from this very source. It gives us all LOVE, WISDOM, and TRUTH to lead an overcoming life in this world and into the beyond. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” 2 Ti 3:16.
3) The WORD (Scripture) gives us the doctrine upon which to build the foundations of the church in the world. As we are called
“if truly you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. For having been drawn to Him, a living Stone, indeed rejected by men, but elect, precious with God: you also as living stones are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ” (I Peter 2:4-5).
Or, it may be said; “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
It does not say we were created for faith or created for works that we do to gain merit. The work of Christ is finished, but HE is not done. It has become for us “CHRIST JESUS” created to “good works” that was formulated in eternity past. That we should obediently seek them out, and when God’s will is revealed, “we should walk in them”.
4) 1 Peter 2:5 says to offer up “SPIRITUAL SACRIFICES”. We cannot do so unless we are connected to heaven. There is a church in heaven and a church in the world. These two should form one body in its ultimates. For example;
“And the servant of the man of God arose early and went out. And, behold, an army surrounded the city, and horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, Alas, my master! What shall we do? And he answered, Do not fear, for those with us are more than those with them. And Elisha prayed and said, I pray You, Jehovah, open his eyes so that he may see. And Jehovah opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha” (2 Ki 6:15-17)
And as the Lord taught; “Therefore pray in this way: Our Father, who is in Heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom comes, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven” (Matthew 6:9-10).
In the ultimate end, it refers to Creator God. That “Your will be done”, “on earth as it is in Heaven”. This verse refers to the two realms at the same time, as if it is one kingdom in Creator God. And further, “that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You have sent Me” (John 17:21).
We are co-joined to heaven as individuals, and as a church body.
What Are You TRYING TO SAY?
What I am trying to say is… There is a DEEPER, nobler and more SPIRITUAL meaning to the end time WORD that is to be found in the SCRIPTURES. ALL THINGS originate in and POINT TO the CREATOR GOD.
Hal Lindsey wrote a remarkable book on end times, that sold in the millions. The left behind series by Tim LeHaye and Jerry Jenkins took the Christian world by storm. Their eschatological end times interpretations were heralded as breakthroughs that could draw in the masses of non-converted Christians for the generations in which time the
However encouraging (or depressing) as they may seem, they are written with men’s eyes that live in the world, and how it will affect the world in which we Christians live in. Do you really imagine the unconverted in the world want to hear about blood, gore, and GOD’S WRATH??
Unfortunately, or to be more accurate, fortunately, God is incapable of wrath, for He is pure LOVE. WRATH found in Scripture refers to what is that part of the human condition of evil that is found deep within us all.
When God’s HOLINESS shines forth upon them, they rebel in anger. This is the true meaning of the word”wrath” found in the Bible. A true unbeliever exposed to the holiness of God will react violently and angrily!
“The one who does not love has not known God. For God is love” (1 John 4:16).
LOVE always wishes for THE BEST for us, but the WRATH hates LOVE.
What Do You Think is God’s PURPOSE IN HIS CREATION?
To reach the lost. To inhabit heaven from the people of the world, and transform them into angels. And for the FATHER of lights to enjoy His many children to satisfy HIS LOVE. And this number knows no bounds and stretches into eternity. The immensity of HIS KINGDOM is beyond all human imagination and understanding. HIS PURPOSE is achieved through HIS WISDOM, and HIS LOVE and TRUTH were expressed in HIS WORD being on the CROSS.
“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” Luk 12:32.
